ISLAMABAD:

The Ministry of Defense has vehemently denied the PTI's allegations that military officers interfere in the process of granting visitors the permission to meet former prime minister Imran Khan in prison.

IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq on Wednesday heard Imran's petition requesting meetings with his lawyers without interference. The petition requested that the alleged interference by majors and colonels in the process of granting permission to visitors including his lawyers to meet the PTI founder at Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail be stopped.

PTI founder's lawyer Shoaib Shaheen stated that this case is against military interference in the administration of a jail. Justice Farooq inquired if the Ministry of Defense's report had been received.

The deputy attorney general stated that the Ministry of Defense has deemed the PTI founder's allegations baseless. Shaheen said a copy of the ministry's letter had not been made part of the record.

The judge asked the state's law officer to show the court the ministry's response if there was nothing confidential in it.
