Jessica Simpson shuts down rumors that she is ‘drinking again’ after 8 years sober

Jessica Simpson is responding to accusations that she has resumed drinking alcohol.

On Monday, August 5, while celebrating her son Ace’s 11th birthday with a photo on Instagram, the singer received an unrelated comment from a follower instructing her to "STOP DRINKING!"

The 44-year-old promptly responded to the critic and reassured her fans that she remains sober.

“I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I’ve made for myself and for my family,” she shared. 

“Thank you for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way.”

After her reply, the Instagram user quickly retracted their comment and apologized for the assumption.

Simpson has maintained sobriety for almost seven years.
