Marvel’s Simu Liu commented on J.K. Rowling’s "anti-trans rhetoric," expressing his disapproval of what the renowned Harry Potter author has turned into.

Fans online were grateful that the actor addressed the issue.

In a Buzzfeed post on Threads, where the magazine asked users about celebrities they used to admire but no longer do, Liu responded:

"I'm really not feeling JK Rowling's online discourse. I think the internet often jumps to conclusions and piles on to people who do not deserve it... but she has been repeatedly doubling down on some really dangerous anti-trans rhetoric that has really affected people in my life, including close friends."

The actor also mentioned that although he loves Harry Potter, he despises cyberbullying and  “very much dislikes” what J.K. Rowling has become.

Following Simu Liu’s remark, fans swiftly expressed their gratitude for his stance on the British author, who had recently publicly criticized Algerian boxer Imane Khelif amid a gender controversy.

A Reddit user commented, "I guess I'm glad he at least commented. There are a lot of folks who haven't stated a lukewarm dislike or anything else."

Another user remarked, "I know he's going to get sh*t, but this is one of the most high profile people to explicitly say she's dangerous."
