Taylor Swift dominates VMA 2024 nominations
MTV revealed the nominees for the 2024 Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Tuesday, featuring Taylor Swift, SZA, Post Malone, and other top-nominated artists.
Swift is leading with ten nominations, including some of the night's most prestigious awards, such as Video of the Year and Artist of the Year.
If she wins Video of the Year, she will break her own record and become the only artist to win this category five times, with three consecutive wins.
Swift's Fortnight collaborator, Post Malone, is close behind with nine nominations.
Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Sabrina Carpenter each secured six.
Megan Thee Stallion and "Snooze" singer SZA received five nominations, including the prestigious Artist of the Year.
Lisa, Olivia Rodrigo, and Teddy Swims each garnered four nominations.
Latto also received multiple nominations, including Best Collaboration for Jung Kook’s “Seven.”
Victoria Monet and Tyla, both of whom have excelled in recent years, received two and three nominations respectively.
They are among the 29 first-time VMAs nominees, which also include Sexxy Redd, Burna Boy, Coco Jones, and Flyana Boss.
Despite not releasing any videos for her three-act trilogy of albums, Beyoncé earned a Song of the Year nomination for Cowboy Carter’s “Texas Hold Em.”
She competes against Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me,” Kendrick Lamar’s anthem “Not Like Us,” Sabrina Carpenter’s mega hit “Espresso,” Swift and Malone’s “Fortnight,” and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.”
The VMAs are scheduled to take place on September 10 at 8 p.m. in New York's UBS Arena.
