13 BYC workers released on bail
The judicial magistrate for District South on Tuesday granted bail to 13 activists of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) against personal surety bonds. The BYC activists were booked in a case involving alleged sloganeering against state institutions at a protest in Karachi.
During Tuesday's proceedings, defence counsel Haider Lashari argued that the BJC activists were arrested without valid reasons as they had no direct involvement in the protest. Lashari further argued that his clients were detained from various locations unrelated to the protest itself. According to police reports, a BYC protest rally started from the Arts Council and participants marched to the Karachi Press Club.
