New 'John Wick' TV series set to expand the Assassin universe

Fans can expect action, fight choreography, and cinematic visuals that have become synonymous with the franchise.

Lionsgate Television is expanding the adrenaline-fueled world of "John Wick" with a new TV series set to follow the events of "John Wick: Chapter 4." as per report by Deadline.

This latest installment, titled "John Wick: Under the High Table," promises to delve deeper into the intricate underworld of assassins and the power struggles within the High Table, the secretive organization that governs them.

The series will not only feature familiar faces from the film franchise but also introduce a new wave of characters vying for power in the wake of John Wick's departure. This fresh perspective will provide a unique insight into the inner workings of the High Table and the complex dynamics between its members.

Keanu Reeves, the actor behind the titular character, will reprise his role as executive producer, alongside Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road. Chad Stahelski, the visionary director of the "John Wick" films, will also executive produce and lend his expertise to the pilot episode. Robert Levine, known for his work on "The Old Man" and "Black Sails," will take the helm as writer, showrunner, and executive producer, ensuring a seamless transition from the silver screen to the small screen.

With Lionsgate Television at the production helm, fans can expect the same level of high-octane action, intricate fight choreography, and stylish visuals that have become synonymous with the "John Wick" franchise. The series will delve into the rich mythology of the High Table, exploring the origins of its power and the consequences of defying its authority.

While no network or streaming platform has been officially announced as the series' home, Lionsgate is actively seeking a suitable partner to bring this new chapter of the "John Wick" saga to life. With the success of the previous miniseries, "The Continental: From the World of John Wick," which premiered on Peacock in 2023, there is no doubt that "John Wick: Under the High Table" will find a receptive audience eager to immerse themselves once again in this thrilling world of assassins and intrigue.
