On Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris will feature some local talent at a rally in Eau Claire, Wis., where Bon Iver will perform.

This event is part of a swing state tour she is undertaking with her running mate this week.

Bon Iver, the Grammy-winning indie folk band, is fronted by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, who hails from Eau Claire.

On Tuesday, Harris will announce her running mate in Philadelphia.

Following this, she will travel to several crucial states for her electoral strategy, including Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada.

Previously, Harris shared the stage with hip-hop artists Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo, who appeared with the vice president at her campaign rally in Atlanta last month.

Similar to Vernon, Quavo performed in front of a local audience, as he is originally from nearby Gwinnett County, Ga.

The use of varied celebrity talent, including Beyoncé, in Harris's campaign contrasts sharply with President Biden’s re-election effort.

Biden has mostly campaigned in smaller venues and has faced challenges in generating the same level of enthusiasm seen with Harris or Donald Trump on the campaign trail.

Vernon, who has gained recent recognition for his frequent collaborations with Taylor Swift, is no stranger to Democratic politics.

He supported Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and performed at a Sanders rally before the Iowa caucus.

He also initiated a get-out-the-vote campaign called “For Wisconsin” and performed at six colleges across the state in the week leading up to the 2022 midterm elections.

The slogan for the tour was “Apocolypse Nah.”
