Two killed, 7 injured in roof collapse
Roofs of two houses at different places in Lyari area collapsed in which two persons lost their lives while seven others sustained injuries.
First tragic incident took place near Chakiwara police station where two people were killed and five were injured. The second incident of roof collapse happened in Kalri where a woman and a man were injured.
According to the details, two laborers were killed and five other sustained injuries when the roof of a house collapsed on Chhachi Street near Chakiwara police station.
Police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and with the help of the local residents, pulled out the people from the debris and shifted them to the Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced two persons dead. They were identified as Hasan Ali, 30, son of Lal Mohammad and Mansoor, 28, son of Ali Bilal.
One of the deceased Hasan sold water bottles at the city court, while Mansoor, the other deceased and injured used to work as labourers to load and unload sand and gravel on trucks. The deceased belonged to Nandu Taro village, Khairpur district. The police handed over the bodies to the heirs after legal formalities.
In the second incident, the roof of a house collapsed near Firdous Masjid, Abdullah Haroon Road, Lyari Khada Market. The Kalri police, Rescue 1122 and Edhi volunteers reached the spot and with the help of local residents, pulled out a woman and a man in injured condition from the debris and shifted them to the Civil Hospital. They were identified as 27-year-old Ali Akbar son of Ahmad and 50-year-old Nazira Bibi wife of Rehmat.
