APCA laments anti-govt servant move
The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) has condemned the abolishment of Section 17-A of the Civil Servants Service Rules, terming it an anti-government servant tactic.
The Punjab government had abolished Section 17-A of the Civil Servants Service Rules, closing the avenue for offering government jobs to the children and spouses of employees who die during service.
Under Section 17-A, children and spouses of employees who died while in service were eligible for government employment. The Governor of Punjab has signed the amendment to abolish this section, making it officially effective.
APCA office-bearers said that the current government had been targeting employees, teachers, and clerks since coming to power and criticised the discontinuation of all vacant posts, the imposition of restrictions on employees, and the gradual alteration of employee-friendly rules.
APCA central vice president Shehzad Kayani and provincial VP Chaudhry Mubashir have denounced the decision and announced that they will organise a robust protest at the provincial level starting next week.
