Cardi B will not seek child support in divorce from Offset
Cardi B stated she did not request child support from her estranged husband, Offset, in her divorce filing.
On Saturday, the "WAP" artist disclosed the child support information while addressing claims that the Migos rapper was "unsupportive" during their marriage.
“Ok this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids,” she wrote in the comments section of the Jasmine Brand’s Instagram post.
“Never in my career no matter what I went through I had friends or family go to the media sooo I don’t know who is this damn source going to people magazine..Even wit my filling I’m not askin for child support my claim is for him to only pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.”
Page Six exclusively reported that Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, filed for divorce from Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, on Wednesday.
The Grammy-winning artist, currently expecting her and Offset’s third child, requested primary custody of their children: Kulture, 6, and Wave, 2.
A source informed us that infidelity was not a factor in the couple's decision to split; they had secretly married in 2017.
“They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else,” the source claimed. “This is something she wants to do.”
The insider also added that the divorce was not “something that happened overnight.”
“They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It’s become unavoidable,” the source claimed.
Rumors of infidelity have troubled Cardi and Offset's marriage for years.
