Dafne Keen's X-23 might be the new Wolverine

At 55, Jackman can't play Wolverine forever.

Deadpool & Wolverine reintroduced Hugh Jackman as Logan, and the ending of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie paved the ideal way for the franchise's new Wolverine.

Recasting Wolverine is a challenging task since Jackman has become one of the most beloved superhero movie actors ever.

The star first portrayed Wolverine in 2000's X-Men and is now returning to play Logan once more in the MCU as part of Deadpool & Wolverine's star-studded ensemble.

Against expectations, Deadpool & Wolverine concludes with the two heroes together in the Fox universe rather than the MCU's Earth-616.

In addition to them, the movie's final scene includes many of Wade Wilson's friends from the first two Deadpool films, along with Dafne Keen's X-23, who first appeared in Logan and returns now older for an emotional role in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Given that ending, it is safe to say that all three heroes will return.

Marvel Studios has announced two potential movies for the trio: 2026's Avengers: Doomsday and 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars.

Since the Fox universe persists after Deadpool & Wolverine, I think the MCU plans to incorporate actors from those Marvel movies into the next two multiverse Avengers films.

Avengers: Secret Wars' ending will likely reboot the MCU and introduce the new X-Men.

Dafne Keen's X-23 will likely continue as Wolverine in the MCU afterward.

At 55, Jackman can't play Wolverine forever. However, the challenge is significant, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige stating that a new actor must be quite distinct from Jackman for it to be effective.
