Nia Jax emerges victorious over Bayley at WWE SummerSlam 2024

Nia Jax secured a monumental victory over Bayley to claim the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2024, held at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

In a thrilling match witnessed by a massive crowd, Nia Jax delivered a powerful Annihilator to Bayley, ending her underdog reign. 

This victory marks Jax’s second singles title in WWE, with her win coming after a dramatic moment involving a teased cash-in attempt by Money in the Bank holder Tiffany Stratton.

Bayley's defeat concludes a championship run that began with much promise at WrestleMania 40 but did not sustain momentum due to a lack of compelling rivalries. 

Conversely, Nia Jax’s victory is the pinnacle of her redemption arc, following her rehire by WWE in 2023 after a nearly two-year absence from the promotion.

Nia Jax, who previously struggled with a reputation for being unsafe in the ring, has turned her career around since her return. WWE has even acknowledged her past issues in storylines. 

Despite being released in 2021, Jax’s comeback has been marked by significant improvement and acceptance by fans, overcoming past criticisms of being “boring” and reckless.
