Adele surprised fans during her second night of the ‘Adele in Munich’ residency by pausing her performance to broadcast the Olympic Women’s 100 meters final on the giant screens at Messe München’s 80,000-seat outdoor arena.

The Grammy Award winner, who will be performing in Munich for the next month, made this unexpected move on Saturday.

One fan took to X, sharing a clip of the audience intently watching the race, writing, “Adele stops her show to watch Sha’Carri Richardson in the 100m Women’s Final at the Olympics!”

Sha’Carri Richardson from Team USA secured a silver medal with a time of 10.87 seconds, while her teammate Melissa Jefferson earned bronze with a time of 10.92 seconds.

The gold medal went to Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia, who made history by winning her country’s first gold with a time of 10.72 seconds.

Adele’s Munich residency, which began on Friday, includes performances twice a week until August 31. The venue offers additional attractions for ticket holders, including Adele World, featuring a ferris wheel, an authentic English pub, and an ‘I Drink Wine’ bar.

Following her Munich stint, Adele will return to her ‘Weekends with Adele’ residency in Las Vegas, running from October 25 to November 23.

Speaking to Germany’s ZDF public broadcast service last month, Adele revealed, “I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
