Three killed in police encounter

Three suspected robbers were killed, while their two accomplices escaped after a police encounter in the area of Thikriwala police station.

A spokesman said Sabzi Mandi police checkpoint in-charge Muzaffar Ali, during routine patrolling, saw two motorcycles carrying five persons near Dhinga Phattak Bypass late on Friday night.

The police signaled them to stop but the men opened fire and fled towards Abbaspur Road.

The police chased them and called more force for help. The SHO of Thikriwala police station and his team also reached the spot and encircled the suspects near Chak 250RB in Bardekay. The police ordered the men to surrender but they opened fire. During the encounter, three suspects died.
