Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman, the spiritual leader of the Sarwari Jamaat, has extended an invitation to former PTI National Assembly member Sher Afzal Khan Marwat to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

In a message to Marwat on Saturday, Jameel-uz-Zaman stated that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is committed to transforming Pakistan into a modern nation under his leadership.

“We invite you to join the PPP so that we can serve this nation together,” Jameel-uz-Zaman said.

Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman is expected to arrive in Islamabad soon to meet with Sher Afzal Marwat and formally invite him to join the PPP.

This development comes as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has cancelled the basic party membership of its former Senior Vice President and National Assembly member, Sher Afzal Marwat. PTI has also demanded Marwat’s resignation from the National Assembly.

The party’s Additional General Secretary, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, issued a notification stating that PTI decided to revoke Marwat’s membership due to serious violations.

According to the notification, Marwat was previously issued a show-cause notice for policy violations, instructing him to adhere to the party's guidelines regarding public statements.

A committee was formed to monitor Marwat’s tweets and media statements.

Naqvi’s notification explained that the committee concluded Marwat failed to comply with party rules and considered himself above the party, damaging its image and narrative.
