Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec dubbed 'John Wick' of the Olympics for viral performance

The 51-year-old's casual approach and natural skill earn him a silver medal and internet fame.

Known as the “John Wick” of the Olympics, 51-year-old Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec has gone viral for his performance in the mixed pairs 10-meter air pistol event at the 2024 games.

Representing Turkey, Dikec secured a silver medal with his relaxed and laid-back approach, which has captivated social media.

The comparison to the John Wick film series, featuring Keanu Reeves as a retired assassin, highlights Dikec's cool demeanor in a high-stakes environment.

Unlike his competitors, who wore specialized gear such as glasses and ear protection, Dikec casually stood with one hand in his pocket, effortlessly hitting his targets and winning second place.

In an interview with Turkish media outlet Milat Gazetesi, Dikec explained his unconventional style: "I did not need special equipment. I’m a natural, a natural shooter."

Viewers quickly turned Dikec's performance into a meme, celebrating his nonchalant attitude.

Some popular tweets include comments like, "Looks like he was taking a walk around the park then decided to drop by for the Olympics," and "i know a trained assassin when i see one."

Dikec's effortless skill and viral fame have made him a standout at the 2024 Olympics, with fans eagerly sharing and commenting on his unique approach to the sport.
