Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign drop surprise album 'Vultures 2' after months of teasers
After months of anticipation, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign have surprise-released their new album "Vultures 2" on digital streaming platforms (DSPs).
This release came just hours after they dropped the single "Slide" on yeezy.com and live-streamed the entire project on YouTube.
There has been significant buzz surrounding "Vultures 2" this week, especially after West's website hinted that the album would finally be available today.
However, the release date was swiftly removed from the site, leading fans and media to speculate about further delays.
The suspense ended with the release of "Slide" and the full album, which includes previously teased tracks like "River" and "Time Moving Slow."
"Slide" was initially previewed in September 2023 during a listening session hosted by West and Ty at Le Baroque in Geneva, Switzerland.
The track was later played by Fred Again.. at his Shrine Expo Hall shows in Los Angeles.
"This is madness for me, I made this with my brother Ty a few months ago," Fred said at the time.
The song was performed again in December 2023 at the Vultures Rave in Miami, with speculation about a James Blake feature arising from a tracklist on North West’s shirt.
The final version's contributors remain unconfirmed.
The journey to "Vultures 2" has been long and winding.
West initially announced in January that it would be the second in a trilogy of albums.
"Vultures 1" was released on February 10, and the follow-up was slated for March 8.
However, after several delays and social media teases, including a May 3 release that never materialized, many fans doubted the album would ever see the light of day.
The scheduling and subsequent cancellation of listening events worldwide further dampened expectations.
