'I'll hold them accountable on Judgement Day:' Shagufta Ejaz fires back at trolls

Shagufta attracted trolls after she posted vacation pictures with her daughters

Veteran Pakistani actress Shagufta Ejaz has strongly responded to social media users who have been defaming her, declaring that she 'will hold them accountable on the Day of Judgement.'

The actress was targeted by online trolls after she recently posted pictures with her daughters from a trip outside Pakistan.

In response, she uploaded a new video on her YouTube channel, sharing screenshots of hateful comments made by users on her videos about her trip to Dubai.

These comments targeted her character and accused her of marrying Yahya Siddiqui for money, using inappropriate words that prompted Shagufta to address her critics in a special video message.

In her heartfelt video message, Shagufta, with tears in her eyes, stated, "I will never forgive those who slander and accuse me, and I will hold them accountable on the Day of Judgement."

She explained that she did not come to Dubai for leisure; instead, she was there because of an issue with her bank account, which resulted in all her money being transferred to the government's account.

She is in Dubai to reclaim these funds and also to collect payment for some bags she had sold, emphasising that her trip was only for three days.

Shagufta further clarified that she did not marry Yahya Siddiqui for money.

She needed a father figure for her daughters, which is why she married Yahya, and she is grateful for his generosity in taking on the role of their father.

She has been working in showbiz for 35 years, covering her expenses and bearing the educational costs of her youngest daughter, while her husband only pays an employee's salary and household bills.

The actress revealed that her husband has been suffering from cancer for the past five years, causing distress to the entire family.

Still, those who defame her seem oblivious to their struggles.

Towards the end of her video, Shagufta posed a question to her critics, asking if they were paying for her sick husband's treatment or taking him to the hospital every day, highlighting the insensitivity of their accusations.
