Capital schools end Saturday holiday
The Ministry of Education has announced the discontinuation of Saturday holidays for schools in Islamabad, introducing a new schedule that includes remedial classes for students.
This change is set to take effect from August 10, and an official notification in this regard was issued.
According to Tabassum Naz, Director of Federal Directorate of Education, the decision aims to provide additional support to students struggling in key subjects.
Saturdays will now be dedicated to remedial classes in English, Mathematics, and Science, along with various extracurricular activities to enhance student engagement.
This initiative, guided by the directives of Secretary of Federal Education and Professional Training, Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani, aims to focus on students' academic weaknesses and offer targeted assistance.
Officials have clarified that only essential staff will be required to work on Saturdays.
However, school heads have been instructed to ensure the successful implementation of this decision, making sure that the special classes are conducted effectively.
The change reflects the ministry's commitment to improving educational outcomes and addressing students' diverse needs.
