ISLAMABAD:

The body of Constable Gulfraz, who had been posted at the Hassan Abdal police station and missing for two days, was discovered in the Sarai Madho area of the Sangjani police station in the federal capital.

The constable, a resident of Kharala Kalan, Fateh Jang, went missing on July 30 after leaving his home for duty at the City Hassan Abdal police station. He was last seen departing for work as usual but never arrived at the police station.

Following his disappearance, a case of abduction was registered under section 365 at the Fateh Jhang police station. Tragically, Gulfraz's body was found by the police in a green area in Sarai Madho.

According to authorities, no signs of violence were present on his body. Notably, Gulfraz had left his mobile phone at home before heading to work and had informed his family through someone that he was going to his duty station. After conducting a post-mortem at PIMS, the police handed over the body to his heirs.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Capital Territory has experienced a surge in street crime and theft, with 24 incidents reported recently. In these incidents, thieves made off with eight motorcycles, cash, jewellery, and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees.

Additionally, three motorcycles, three mobile phones, and cash were stolen at gunpoint. One motorcycle each was stolen from the areas under Ramna, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, and Sumbal police stations. Furthermore, three motorcycles were reported missing from Kohsar police station jurisdiction, and one motorcycle was snatched at gunpoint from the limits of Tarnol and Koral police stations.

Four motorcycles were stolen from the City zone, three from the Saddar zone, and two from the Industrial area.
