Angelina Jolie Claims Brad Pitt Tried to Use NDA to Silence Her Abuse Allegations

Angelina Jolie has leveled serious accusations against her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, claiming that he sought to have her sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) worth $8.5 million.

In court documents filed on July 25, 2024, in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Jolie's legal team alleged that Pitt proposed the revised NDA as a means to force her silence on matters related to his alleged abuse. The documents suggest that Pitt's attempt to secure the NDA was linked to Jolie's decision to sell her stake in Château Miraval, a winery they co-owned.

Jolie  was accused of breaching a prior agreement not to sell her share of the winery without Pitt's approval. However, Jolie's attorneys contended that the sale was not a retaliatory act but rather a response to Pitt's refusal to buy her share unless she agreed to the new NDA terms. The documents argue that Pitt's $8.5 million holdback was specifically designed to silence her allegations.

Pitt's legal team had previously challenged Jolie's motion to compel him to disclose personal communications, describing the request as "wide-ranging and intrusive." They argued that Jolie's request for documents related to Pitt's therapy sessions and other private communications was an attempt to turn a business dispute into a re-litigation of their divorce case.

Jolie's attorneys criticized his argument as outdated and legally unsupported. They argued that Pitt waived any privacy protections by suing Jolie, and that he should be compelled to produce relevant documents related to her allegations.

The ongoing legal battle between Jolie and Pitt also involves issues of custody over their children and a lengthy divorce settlement process. A source close to the couple recently indicated that negotiations are still ongoing, with both sides continuing to address unresolved matters.

Despite her desire to move past the litigation, Jolie has faced continued legal challenges from Pitt. "While Jolie sincerely wishes Pitt would end this litigation and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, that cannot happen while Pitt relentlessly pursues her," the court documents read.
