Slim Shady praises Taylor Swift while roasting Eminem in new video
Eminem has released a new conceptual album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), where he battles his alter ego, Slim Shady, through a series of songs and rap battles. The album sees Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, confronting Slim Shady for his provocative and offensive lyrics, which have targeted marginalized communities over the years.
In a new video created with Complex, Eminem continues this theme, going head-to-head with an AI version of Slim Shady. During their exchange, Marshall criticizes Slim for “being a dickhead and just pissing people off,” acknowledging that “the world’s changed” and people are “way more sensitive now.” Slim retorts that he’d rather be canceled for being offensive than writing bad lyrics.
Swifties took to Reddit to express their excitement, with one comment reading, “Game recognizes game ❤️.” Another fan noted, “He realizes she is a powerful woman & she's a force of nature like him.” Some fans recalled how Eminem defended Swift after Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs, with Eminem telling Spin magazine at the time, “He shouldn’t have done that, man. I mean, she’s a little girl.”
