Jack White set to release new album 'No Name' this week
Jack White is officially releasing his surprise album "No Name" this week.
Initially available in limited quantities at Third Man Record stores earlier this month, the album was sold in a plain white sleeve with only the title visible.
The official release is scheduled for Friday, August 2nd. A special blue vinyl edition will be available in Third Man Records retail stores on Thursday, with select independent record stores worldwide receiving copies the following day. Additionally, black vinyl editions will be available on the Third Man and Jack White websites.
White has maintained his DIY approach with this album, recording, producing, and mixing it at his Third Man Studio throughout 2023 and 2024. The album was pressed to vinyl at Third Man Pressing and is being released by Third Man Records.
Creating a buzz since July 19, the album is White's first straightforward rock release since the White Stripes' last performance in 2007. Variety described the album as "blazing … the freshest and most exciting rock and roll album to come down the pike in years."
The review praised its constant energy, stating, "The energy doesn’t dip for a second, [and] it’s so exciting and explosive that it makes you wonder why he, or anyone else, hasn’t made an album like this recently."
Jack White will also embark on a tour in 2024, with performances scheduled in Nashville, Atlanta, Athens, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and California. Highlights include headline appearances at the Pentaport Rock Festival, Way Out West, Øyafestivalen, Syd for Solen, and Desert Daze.
