HYDERABAD:

PPP MNA Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman, whose late father Makhdoom Amin Fahim once headed PPP-Parliamentarians, has finally come out in the open against his party's fellows allegedly going against him in Matiari district.

In a letter written to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on July 31, Zaman complained that some local leaders of the party canvassed against PPP's ticket-holders in the February general elections.

"I am writing to draw your attention to the misconduct of certain party office holders during the general elections 2024," he wrote.

The PPP had allotted tickets for all the three seats of the national and provincial assemblies in Matiari to the Makhdoom family. Zaman's son Makhdoom Mehboob Zaman was elected MPA on PS-58 and Makhdoom Rafiq Zaman on PS-59.

"These people, whose names have already been identified, openly worked against the PPP ticket-holders and supported the opposition candidates, undermining our party's integrity and electoral prospects," he complained.

Zaman, however, did not name anyone in his letter.

He lamented that despite the seriousness of the issue the party did not take an action against them or held them accountable. "I urge you to initiate an investigation and take appropriate action against these members (of PPP)."
