Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman was hospitalised on Thursday following an injury during a kickoff drill at training camp, according to Cleveland.com.

Foreman was immobilised and placed on a stretcher before being transported by ambulance.

In a statement issued by the Browns, it was confirmed that Foreman sustained "a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain," but "had movement in all his extremities." He was airlifted to a medical centre in Roanoke, Virginia, for further evaluation.

Foreman's teammates gathered in prayer shortly after he left the field. The 28-year-old running back joined the Browns in March after spending the 2023 season with the Chicago Bears. Foreman, a seven-year NFL veteran, achieved significant success in 2022 with the Carolina Panthers, rushing for 914 yards and five touchdowns.

Foreman's career has also included stints with the Texans and Titans. His performance with the Titans in 2021, where he rushed for 566 yards, was instrumental in their division title win. The Browns signed Foreman to bolster their running back roster, which includes Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford.
