Snoop Dogg recently reflected on his special bond with the late Queen Elizabeth II during an interview with U.K. radio station Capital FM. The rapper, known for his hit "Gin and Juice," spoke with interviewer Jordan North at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel in London. Snoop shared his admiration for the Queen, saying, "Rest in peace to the Queen, that was my girl."

In the interview on July 23, Snoop humorously mentioned his desire to visit Buckingham Palace, saying, “I’ll go by the palace, see if they let me in.” North noted that Prince William is a fan of Snoop, to which Snoop replied, “Well, the Queen was a fan too.” He recounted a 2015 story from The Guardian where Queen Elizabeth II intervened to prevent his deportation from the U.K. in 1994, stating, “When they tried to kick me out of England, the Queen made a comment that her grandbabies loved Snoop Doggy Dogg, and he had done no wrong in the U.K., so she gave me permission to be here.”

Snoop credited the Queen’s grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry, for influencing her decision, adding, “They love my music, and it is what it is. There’s a mutual love and respect.”

In the same Capital FM interview, Snoop also spoke about his friendship with Martha Stewart, noting her lessons on etiquette. “Oh etiquette is key, I have a friend named Martha Stewart who loves teaching me that word etiquette. Yeah, in the hood we don’t have etiquette, we just get cracking, like a breakfast egg,” he quipped.

Beyond his reflections on the Queen, Snoop Dogg has been actively involved in the Paris 2024 Olympics. As an unofficial Olympic Ambassador, he has provided lively coverage across NBC broadcasts. Recently, he shared tips with 23-time gold medalist Michael Phelps in a video posted by NBC Sports on July 29. Snoop has been a prominent figure at the Olympics, cheering at gymnastics competitions, interacting with Simone Biles’ mother, and serving as an official torchbearer for the United States.
