Floods have wreaked havoc in the Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P)province, sweeping away several homes and causing significant destruction.
The deluge caused the deaths of at least two people and left several others injured.
Dozens of houses were completely destroyed while more than 40 other residential properties suffered partial damage.
The floods also swept away three vehicles and a threshing machine, highlighting the severity of the situation.

In addition to the damage to infrastructure, the floods resulted in the death of dozens of livestock and destroyed all standing and harvested crops in the area.
Due to adverse weather conditions and severed roads in Upper Chitral, the reopening of educational institutions has been delayed until August 3.
As a result, all government and semi-government educational institutions in Upper Chitral will remain closed from August 1 to August 3, 2024.
In Lower Chitral, the aftermath of the floods caused a 40-hour disruption in the electricity supply from the Golen Gol Hydropower House, compounding the challenges faced by the affected communities.
