US visa process time significantly reduced

The US embassy and its consulates in Pakistan had significantly reduced the time-period for processing the visa application and their diplomats were currently processing 10,000 applications at its missions in Islamabad and Karachi on a daily bases, sources said on Wednesday.

Previously, the visa process spanned over 440 days but now the time period had been reduced to 230 days, according to sources at the US Embassy. They said that more officers had been appointed at the consulates to reduce the visa processing time. The sources added that the appointment time for the tourist, educational and business visas had been reduced.
