Victim’s neighbours catch suspect, shave his head

A rescue service employee who had allegedly harassed a girl on phone and gone to meet her on the pretext of a medical emergency was caught by residents of the neighbourhood.

The residents shaved the head of the suspect before the Gadai police reached the spot and arrested him.

The police registered a case against the suspect and started investigations into the incident.

According to local sources, the rescue worker, Khalid Ahmadani, allegedly went to meet the girl on the pretext of a medical emergency in the Keeraywala area.

Local people tied him up, cut his hair and informed the area police. Gadai police reached the spot, arrested the man and transferred him to the police station.

The girl's father alleged that the suspect had been harassing and blackmailing her through phone calls for many days.

He said the suspect had blackmailed the girl to force her to agree to meet him.

The Gadai police registered the case against Khalid and an unknown person on the complaint of the girl's father.

District Emergency Officer Ahmed Kamal told The Express Tribune that the suspect, who was a driver, had been suspended and a departmental inquiry had been started.
