DISCOs directed to extend last date for payment of electricity bills

On the order of PM Shehbaz Sharif, the Power Division directed all companies to extend last date by 10 days

ISLAMABAD:

On the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Power Division on Wednesday directed all distribution companies (DISCOs) to extend last date by 10 days for payment of electricity bills.

Ten days extension would be given to the consumer for payment of their electricity bills for the month of July and August, said a statement issued by the Power Division.

As power consumers are already overburdened by record-high electricity tariff, overbilling allegedly on the part of distribution companies’ various field formations has rendered them stunned.

Moreover, Jamaat-i-Islami has been leading ongoing protests against inflated electricity bills.
