Channing Tatum has shown his enthusiasm for "Deadpool & Wolverine," where he makes a surprise appearance as Gambit, a role he was originally set to play in a standalone film.

In a social media post, Tatum reflected on his experience with Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy.

“I sat in the audience when Ryan Reynolds showed his first peek of Deadpool 1 to the world,” Tatum recalled, adding that he immediately recognized Reynolds' vision.

“I didn’t know him really at all back then. But since then I can say that there is almost no one that has had my back in this industry more than @VancityReynolds.”

Tatum’s Gambit project faced numerous delays and was ultimately shelved following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

However, Tatum's character makes a notable appearance in "Deadpool & Wolverine," often referencing his missed opportunities in the Fox superhero lineup.

“I thought I had lost Gambit forever,” Tatum shared. “But he fought for me and Gambit. I will owe him probably forever.”

Tatum also praised Shawn Levy, the director of "Deadpool & Wolverine" and Tatum’s collaborator on "Free Guy."

“Truly such a brilliant creator on every single level,” he said.

Tatum expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, calling the film a “masterpiece” and sharing his excitement about the project.
