Bill Maher thinks Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will break up: “He’s gonna dump her”
In a recent episode of his Club Random podcast, comedian Bill Maher did not hold back in his critique of Taylor Swift's personal and professional life.
Maher, 68, expressed his views while conversing with 23-year-old Hailey Welch, widely known as the 'Hawk Tuah Girl'. During the discussion, Maher made a bleak prediction about Swift's relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
"He's gonna dump her, though. You know that," Maher remarked, adding, "With her, it's like the Gatorade at the Super Bowl, you know you're gonna get dumped."
Swift, 34, has been in a relationship with Kelce for nearly a year and publicly acknowledged their romance in December 2023.
Despite her enthusiastic support for Kelce, including attending numerous Chiefs games and the Super Bowl, Maher dismissed her gestures as unremarkable. "I just felt like 35 was a little old to be like, 'My boyfriend's a football player and I wear his jersey to the game with his number on it!' Right? I mean, come on," he commented.
Welch, who gained fame for a viral interview over the summer, defended Swift, suggesting that the singer should do what makes her happy. Welch also speculated that Swift might write a new album about her current relationship, referencing past hits inspired by her exes.
Maher criticized Swift's songwriting about personal relationships as "tacky" but acknowledged that it is part of her creative process. "You can't control what the muse dictates to you. She's a songwriter. I can't fault her for that," Maher conceded.
In February, Maher warned that Swift could influence the upcoming presidential election if she supports the Democrats again, citing her previous impact on voter registration. "This is a person who could literally swing the election," he stated on his Real Time podcast.
Swift’s ability to mobilize her fanbase has been evident, especially after she encouraged voter registration last September.
