YouTuber Emma Chamberlain goes official with new boyfriend at Paris Olympics
Emma Chamberlain’s influence on brunette indie pop musicians is notable.
Just a week after Role Model released an album about their relationship, Emma has hard-launched her romance with Peter McPoland, who bears a strong resemblance to her ex.
The couple posed for photos at the Paris Olympics alongside Emma's father, signaling a serious relationship.
Last fall, Peter McPoland declared on The Zach Sang Show that he’d never date Emma, calling her his “hero” and comparing her to Bruce Springsteen.
Despite this, he now appears to be Emma's new beau. Peter, a 23-year-old indie pop singer/songwriter, shares many similarities with Role Model, including being a brunette, New England native with tattoos and a reverence for Emma.
Peter signed with Columbia Records in 2021 and has two albums, Slow Down and Piggy, with around a million Spotify monthly listeners.
This is less than Role Model's three million listeners, but Peter's profile is sure to rise with the "Emma effect."
Emma and Peter were first linked last May when spotted together in New York City and later at the Kilby Block Party music festival in Utah.
Peter's new song, "Dig Your Man," hints at a romantic connection with lyrics like, "Help, I think there’s something going on / Between you and me, I lost my cool."
Fans have noted the cover art's similarity to Role Model’s Kansas Anymore album, further fueling comparisons.
