Overweight plane delays Las Vegas flight as crew seeks 14 volunteers to disembark
A passenger flying out of Las Vegas, Nevada, captured a moment of high tension when a crew member announced via loudspeaker that they needed 14 volunteers to disembark the plane.
The video uploader claims the request was made "for our safety because the plane was too heavy."
This announcement came after the flight, dated July 22, had already experienced a three-hour delay and passengers had to board the plane twice.
The crew offered a $2,500 travel credit to the volunteers, and the video shows a number of people getting out of their seats to accept the offer.
This strategy helped ease the situation, contrasting with an incident in Taiwan where an angry passenger was caught on camera throwing a chair at an airport worker in frustration over a canceled flight.
