Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky got engaged months before 2024 Olympics announcement
Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky reportedly became engaged "several months" before she accidentally revealed the news at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Monday, People reported that Polansky had proposed by the time the pop star turned 38 in March.
However, according to the outlet, she chose not to wear her engagement ring to her birthday dinner party to avoid it being photographed.
“The couple shared the happy news with family and close friends right away but wanted to keep the engagement private otherwise,” a source told People, adding that they are planning their wedding.
“Everyone’s excited about them getting married,” the source continued, noting that the Grammy and Oscar winner is “the happiest with Michael.”
According to an insider, the entrepreneur and investor is "excited and supportive of her career. He can’t stand being in the spotlight but lets her shine.”
Polansky, whose identity was revealed by Page Six in February 2020, "has his own business priorities that she she’s supportive of,” the insider told People, describing the couple as "great together."
Gaga and Polansky are planning more than just their wedding, as they reportedly “love to have a family.”
Her representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment.
On Sunday, the singer referred to the Harvard University graduate as her "fiancé" during a conversation with France’s Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at an Olympic swimming event.
“This is my fiancé, Michael,” she told the politician, who shook Polansky’s hand and went on to gush over Gaga’s “stunning” and “breathtaking” performance during last Friday’s opening ceremony.
The “A Star Is Born” star and her partner first sparked engagement rumors in April when she was seen wearing a large diamond on her left ring finger.
The couple was first connected in 2019, and while they have largely kept their relationship private, he has attended several awards shows with her over the years.
