Axl Rose, 62, parties in Mulberry past closing - Guns N’ Roses lead sings Steely Dan's ‘Dirty Work’
Axl Rose was set to make his appearance on Friday night, just a day after performing alongside Billy Joel at his final show at Madison Square Garden.
The Guns N' Roses lead singer returned to Mulberry, the venue that hosted his after party last year, and joined in singing along when the DJ played Steely Dan's "Dirty Work."
He reportedly arrived at the Downtown celebrity hotspot after dining a few blocks away at BondST.
Rose appeared to have a hazy recollection of attending an afterparty at the bar and was attempting to recall the details. A source overheard him talking with security, who greeted him with, “Welcome back!” To which Rose responded, “I was here before!”
The bar’s private Whisper Room, which Rose mistakenly called “the egg room,” fully revived his memory. Upon seeing the exclusive space—frequented by celebrities like Janet Jackson, Beck, Taylor Swift, Jason Momoa, and himself—Rose exclaimed, “It was here!” according to the source.
Rose last visited the Nolita hotspot in August 2023, when it was newly established, and held a late-night afterparty there following a three-hour Guns N' Roses concert at Metlife Stadium. During that occasion, he spent little time in the private “whisper room” as he preferred to mingle with the crowd.
He danced to DJ David Katz playing “November Rain” and, according to a partygoer, he shared stories from the past and his current activities.
The bar even presented him with a personalized bottle of Don Julio 1942, engraved with his name. Unfortunately, the party was cut short when heavy August rain flooded the basement bar.
Rose had a memorable comeback this time, as he reportedly partied at the venue long past the usual closing time.
