Joan Vassos embarks on 'The Golden Bachelor' journey: 'I'm picky about a gentleman'

Joan Vassos is ready to start her new adventure as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette on ABC's "The Golden Bachelor" spin-off. The show premieres on September 18.

In a recent promo, Vassos sat down with her family to discuss her preparations for the show and what she's looking for in a partner. She's very picky, admitting she wants a man who is a gentleman, has a big heart, is generous, and humble.

When it comes to kissing on camera, Vassos is a bit nervous. "I'm gonna have to get used to that," she said. "I'm gonna probably kiss a fair amount of guys on camera, I'm sorry guys."

Vassos previously competed on the inaugural season of "The Golden Bachelor" last year, but left the show due to a family emergency. She's now back and ready to find love again.

The Golden Bachelor features singles 65 and over, and debuted last September. The show's November finale drew the franchise's best audience in nearly four years. Vassos was announced as the star of the spin-off's inaugural season in May.
