KARACHI:

Technological developments are eliminating jobs as more and more apps replace humans in everyday life, which necessitates endeavours to excel in technology in order to survive in the future job market, said Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

Addressing a Youth Convention at Expo Centre, he said, more than half of the jobs will be eliminated due to the increasing force of technology. Experts say that in the next few years more than 1 billion people will move away from the existing system.

"Our neighbouring countries have become giants in technology. We too need to join this race and make our mark," he told the convention attended by a large number of youngsters, students, representatives from various IT companies, universities, and people from different walks of life.

The youth and students appreciated the initiatives taken by MQM Pakistan for the youth and appealed for more such programs to be organized in the future.

"Owing to the efforts of MQM-Pakistan, 13 new universities are going to be established in Karachi. These universities will shape the youth of this city on modern lines, equipping them with the skills to compete in this world and contribute to society," Siddiqui said.

The MQM-P chairman said, "we will provide you with the skills to thrive. Now, it is your responsibility to take advantage of this opportunity, groom yourselves, and brighten your future."

Senior leader Syed Mustafa Kamal, while addressing the youth, said there is so much deceit in society that it is difficult to identify the right leader.

"Remember, young people, a leader can be anything but a person with a bad character. If we make a mistake in choosing our leader, we will fall far behind."

He said it was time to shed despair and struggle for a better future. "We are going to provide you with skills that will bury your despair here and send you home with hope."

Kamal said that in a global competition involving forty countries, four young people from Karachi, Pakistan, have won gold medals. MQM Pakistan congratulates them today, and we are hopeful that the youth present at this youth convention will make Pakistan and Karachi proud worldwide, just like these four young people.

Kamal further stated that it is time to stop begging the government for jobs. "We have gathered information with e-commerce experts worldwide, and now we believe that all people can earn 5,000 to 6,000 rupees daily through https://www.mqmconnect.org/ "you will find hundreds of business ideas in both English and Urdu. Just register your account, become the owner of your own business.

On this occasion, Dr. Farooq Sattar remarked that young people from every linguistic background, without any discrimination of race or colour, are present here. Every young person attending MQM's Youth Convention has come with a pledge and determination to help make Pakistan great. Today, we must commit to producing individuals like Bill Gates and Elon Musk, rather than Asif Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, Farooq Sattar, or Naeemur Rehman. This can only happen if the youth play their part.

At the conclusion of the convention, gold medals and awards were distributed among the students who achieved top positions.
