KARACHI:

A seven-member committee has been formed to investigate the deadly clash between two groups of the Bugti clan in Karachi's DHA area.

The committee was established following the violent incident on Thursday night, where a conflict between the Nawabzada Mir Fahad Bugti and Sardar Ali Haider Bugti groups resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including Fahad and two sons of Ali.

Fahad was leaving his home in his double cabin pickup when Ali rammed his pickup and suddenly a shootout ensued. Fahad, who was with Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti during his camp for the liberation of Balochistan, is said to have shot dead Ali's two sons, and critically injuring Ali, before going down in hail of bullets.

However, beyond the jumbled information coming through various sources, the committee, led by SSP Investigation South Abdul Rahim Shirazi, will thoroughly investigate the facts to bring forth the real events leading to the tragic showdown among the clans of the formidable tribe of Balochistan.

The investigation committee includes SSP South Sajid Amir Sadozai, SP Clifton Uzair Ahmed, DSP Investigation, Darakhshan police station SHO, and Darakhshan Station Investigation Officer (SIO), and an investigative officer.

The formation of this committee was confirmed by DIG South Syed Asad Raza, who also issued the notification.

The incident occurred in the Khayaban-e-Nishat area of Defence Phase 6, where armed groups from the Bugti clan engaged in a fierce battle.

In the aftermath, police arrested Sardar Ali Haider Bugti and his employee, Qaim Ali, from a hospital.

Meanwhile, authorities were searching for eight to nine suspects who fled the scene. The committee is tasked with providing regular updates to the authorities on the progress of the investigation. They also have the authority to enlist the services of any officer necessary to aid in the inquiry.

The formation of this committee underscores the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the incident, aiming to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation.
