Jennifer Garner's debut at Comic-Con San Diego took an unexpected turn when she found herself trapped in an elevator at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego on July 27.

The actress, in town to promote her role in Deadpool & Wolverine and participate in a panel, shared her ordeal via Instagram.

In a series of seven Instagram videos, Garner documented her experience while stuck in the elevator with several others. The videos, timestamped and shared over an hour, show Garner's progress through the situation.

"Hey guys, um, we're stuck on this elevator," she said in one video. She added, "I could use a Wolverine, I could use a Deadpool, I could use someone," while humorously noting her future preference for stairs.

At various points, Garner commented on the discomfort of the situation, noting, "It's toasty, I'm sphitzy, I need to blot."

She also joked, "Don't cut the blue wire is what we're hearing," and recalled advice from shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Office to sit on the floor during such incidents.

After approximately 41.5 minutes, Garner led her group in singing "99 Bottles of Beer" to pass the time. At the one-hour mark, the elevator's lights came on, prompting Garner to sing Madonna's "Like a Prayer."

Her excitement peaked when first responders arrived after an hour and 12 minutes, leading to cheers from the group.

Garner was in San Diego to promote her return as Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine, a role she last portrayed in 2005. She originally played Elektra in 2003’s Daredevil, opposite her ex-husband Ben Affleck.
