Minnie Driver is set to redefine an iconic Batman villain in the upcoming animated series "Batman: Caped Crusader," voicing Oswalda Cobblepot, a female interpretation of The Penguin. The exciting news was revealed during the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel, where a sneak peek of the first episode showcased Driver's captivating performance.

While some fans may question the gender-swap, Driver assures that the character maintains the essence of The Penguin, albeit with a fresh and "dreadful" twist.

Joining Driver in this reimagined Batman mythology are Hamish Linklater as Batman and Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn. The series boasts an impressive voice cast, including Diedrich Bader, Christina Ricci, and many more.

Executive producers Matt Reeves, J.J. Abrams, and Bruce Timm are behind this fresh take on the Dark Knight's world, promising a captivating and unique animated experience. The series, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions, and 6th & Idaho, will be available to stream on Prime Video starting August 1st.
