Comic-Con attendees were treated to an electrifying preview of Captain America: Brave New World on Saturday, with significant revelations from the Marvel panel.

The highlight was Harrison Ford's unexpected appearance, where he confirmed his role as the Red Hulk. Ford's Thunderbolt Ross, now U.S. president, addresses world leaders at the Celestial Island Summit, revealing Adamantium has been discovered and is now highly sought after.

The footage showcased Ross recruiting Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, to form a new Avengers team, only for things to go awry. The panel also introduced Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, the King of the Serpent Society.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige described Brave New World as a return to the intense action of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, offering a darker twist on superhero cinema.

Mackie noted that his version of Captain America will be more “cerebral” compared to Steve Rogers. The trailer, released on July 12, hinted at an attack on the White House and an assassination attempt on Ross, coinciding with a real-life event the following day.

The film marks Mackie’s first return to the Marvel universe, succeeding Chris Evans’ portrayal of Steve Rogers. The cast includes Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Shira Haas as Sabra, and Liv Tyler reprising her role as Betty Ross.

Captain America: Brave New World, directed by Julius Onah and written by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton, is set for release on February 12, 2025.
