AI rendition of Coke Studio’s ‘Blockbuster’ in Rafi’s voice becomes a viral hit
A musician in India has created an AI-generated rendition of the popular Coke Studio Pakistan song 'Blockbuster' featuring the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi’s vocals, and it has taken the internet by storm.
The original song, released two months ago, quickly became a viral sensation, with social media users creating countless Instagram reels. Indian musician Anshuman Sharma has now added a new twist by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to recreate 'Blockbuster' in Mohammed Rafi’s voice.
The AI rendition has captivated audiences online. Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, also known as Xulfi, the producer of the Coke Studio hit, expressed his amazement at the recreation. "Never did I ever imagine that I’ll be able to hear Mohd Rafi sing the melody and words that we wrote. It’s truly magic. You guys are magic," Xulfi said.
Sharma's rendition, performed by singer Aditya Kalway and converted to Rafi's voice using AI, has been praised for its retro style. Xulfi, overwhelmed by the video, said it was “incredibly done” and described it as “an unseen dream come true.”
'Blockbuster,' composed by Xulfi, Umair Butt, Faris Shafi, and Shamroz Butt, premiered on May 25 and has amassed 26 million views. The song features vocals by Umair Butt, Faris Shafi, and the Gharvi Group, including Abida, Rooha Rawal, Sajida Bibi, and Saba Hassan.
Saba Hassan, the young girl who sings, “Oye Cutie Tenu Mein Samjharyaan, Hun Chadd De Ve Fankariaan, Ve Marjaanyaan” in the music video, has also gone viral, with social media users enamoured by her performance.
