Rapper Reggie Monroe, famously known as PTG Fresh, was fatally struck by a car while riding an electric scooter on Pulaski Highway.

Monroe, 31, was pronounced dead on arrival, his mother, Sabrina Peterson Ali-El, told WMAR News. “He left behind three children, aged 10, 5, and nearly 8 months. He had just bought a new house two months ago,” she said.

Monroe’s mother explained that he was out with friends getting food when the accident occurred on Tuesday night. Police later identified the driver as a 16-year-old, who was reportedly speeding at nearly 100 miles per hour.

“They say he hit Reggie and kept going until he almost hit an officer, which is when they caught him,” Ali-El detailed. The teenage driver is now facing charges for driving without a licence and failing to remain at the scene of an accident resulting in death.

Investigations revealed that the unidentified teen and another juvenile had taken a vehicle registered to a family member, though it remains unclear if they had permission.

Monroe was a rising star in Baltimore's rap scene, on the brink of signing with an Atlanta producer. His family is demanding justice. “Just hold these juveniles accountable for their actions. Please, do not let them get away with murder,” urged Ali-El. “It’s not fair for us parents to endure this much pain.”
