Kate Beckinsale's recent appearance at The Fab Thirties charity event, hosted by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, featured a striking backless Stephane Rolland ball gown.

The gown's embroidered diamond-shaped skirt was complemented by a dramatic black headband from designer Nerida Fraiman, which included a birdcage veil with white accents.

On July 25, Beckinsale took to Instagram Stories to reveal an unexpected twist behind the headpiece. The actress discovered that Fraiman, the designer behind the accessory, was a former classmate.

Beckinsale shared, "Just a moment for this beautiful headpiece and veil - two days before the event I received a DM from the milliner @neridafraiman offering to lend me a hat," she said. "I said wait - Nerida Fraiman from my year at school????"

Confirming the connection, Beckinsale expressed her excitement at reuniting with Fraiman, noting, "She is lovely and so talented and I am thrilled I got to bring a whiff of the lower fifth to this beautiful event."

The actress later posted a series of DMs where they reminisced about school pranks, including a memorable incident involving a pin and a music teacher's chair.

Fraiman, reflecting on their shared past, jokingly referred to Beckinsale's school days as "Inspired and inspirational!!!"

Beckinsale concluded her posts with, "This is the beautiful side of social media. Thank you and so happy to be in touch."
