Have you ever questioned whether relentless dedication to work can ruin a romance? For Kim Kardashian, it certainly did.

On the season 5 finale of The Kardashians, the 43-year-old TV star disclosed that her unwavering commitment to her career ultimately doomed her relationship with an unnamed ex.

In a candid moment from the episode aired on Thursday, July 25, Kardashian revealed her "fight-or-flight" response to being asked to slow down her busy schedule. "When someone tells me not to do something that I planned on, I get physically like, 'You're getting in my way and I will bulldoze whatever is in my way, 'cuz you're not going to tell me to change my schedule,'" she explained.

Her reaction to her ex's suggestion to take a week off was a firm, "Get out of here!" Kardashian disclosed that this moment marked the "beginning of the end" for their relationship.

In a previous episode this season, Kardashian talked about how past traumas have influenced her behavior. She described her calmness as both a superpower and a possible weakness, discussing the complexities of seeming unflappable.

"I would always say how calm I am and that's my superpower, but my therapist felt like it's a trauma response of me remaining calm in living the life that I always have to be in this fight-or-flight mode," she explained in her confessional. "It was such a lightbulb moment."

In the same episode, the beauty mogul shared a rare insight into a 2016 incident that profoundly changed her outlook on life, recalling the night she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

"Imagine you're like, gun to your head, getting tied up, dragged across a hotel room, and the guy, I remember him telling me, like, 'Just stay calm and you'll live.' And I did that and it served me well at the time and I think it saved my life," she recounted.

"But I think I've let it get too calm to where people could take advantage of my calmness or I'm just turning into a full robot with no emotion."
