Bugti tribe clash leaves 5 dead in Karachi
Gunfire roared in the swanky commercial area of Khayaban-e-Nishat in the Defence Phase V area of Karachi, leaving five people dead. According to the police, the armed clash took place between two factions of the Bugti tribe who arrived in the area in their pickup trucks.
DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that five individuals had lost their lives, while two others were severerly injured after the exchange of fire. Police said that the deceased were identified as Fahad Bugti, Naseebullah, Mir Mehsum Bugti, Mir Essa Bugti and Ali.
The injured were believed to be Mir Ali Haider Bugti and Qaim Ali. Further details emerged which suggested that one of the deceased was the grandson of Nawabzada Akbar Bugti, the late chief of the Bugti tribe.
The south zone police said that shootout occurred as the result of a longstanding dispute. The two pickup trucks in which the armed feuding parties arrived were left at the scene of the crime. Law enforcement officials continued that the injured were n severely critical condition.
Police said the main feud was between Fahad Bugti and Ali Haider Bugti who belonged to the same tribe.
Home Minister Ziaul Hassan took notice of the shocking incident and sought details.
