Minister wants roads construction prioritised

Federal Minister for Communications, Privatisation and Board of Investment Abdul Aleem Khan has directed the officials concerned to prioritise the construction of highways and identify new projects.

Chairing a meeting of the National Highway Authority (NHA) on Thursday, the minister said that there would be no compromise on the quality of construction. He instructed the NHA chairman to assign competent officers to oversee the projects.

Khan urged NHA officers to leverage their abilities and expertise to develop a working model for projects in other countries, aiming to increase the NHA’s revenue.

Regarding the northern region, the minister highlighted that the construction of the Gilgit-Khunjrab Motorway could be a “Game Changer” providing access to China and Central Asian States.
