Princess Diana's personal cards and handwritten letters to her family's former housekeeper, Violet Collison, are set to be auctioned on 30 July.

Collison, affectionately called Collie by Diana, was the head housekeeper for Diana's parents at Park House on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where Diana spent her childhood.

The letters include thank-you notes for gifts sent to young Princes William and Harry. One notable letter, written from Kensington Palace on 25 September 1984, expresses Diana's gratitude for a gift to Harry. The notes also reveal touching moments from Diana's life, such as William adoring his little brother and showering him with hugs and kisses.

Expected to fetch thousands of pounds at the auction in Stansted Mountfitchet, one letter written on Buckingham Palace notepaper was sent just three weeks before Diana's wedding to Prince Charles in 1981. Collison retired in 1973 and passed away in 2013 at the age of 89.
