Iggy Azalea says she’s “very much the only parent” to son Onyx with ex-boyfriend Playboi Carti
Iggy Azalea has declared herself "the only parent" to her four-year-old son, Onyx, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Playboi Carti.
Speaking on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner's On Me podcast, Azalea stated, "I'm very much a single mother. I'm very much the only parent, no disrespect, but yes, I am not co-parenting really, and that's just the reality of it."
The 34-year-old rapper discussed how motherhood has influenced her lifestyle, including her decision to reduce travel and focus on being present for her son.
"I no longer want to be travelling around everywhere. I want to take my son to school. I want him to have memories with me and give him that time," she said.
Azalea also highlighted her belief in the importance of instilling confidence in her child, similar to the support she received from her own mother.
"I owe my success in large part to my mother because she spent so much time with me and she just really gassed me up and made me think I was a superwoman genius, dancer extraordinaire, painter extraordinaire, chef, whatever it was."
Despite her focus on parenting, Azalea recently announced a shift in her career interests. In January, she revealed she would not complete her album, citing a greater passion for design and creative direction.
She also joined OnlyFans and released a physical sex tape through her merchandise store, which has sold out. The rapper has not disclosed her earnings from the platform but is reported to have made millions.
